Net-Peeker is a trial-ware. You can use it for 30 days with full functionalities for free. After trial period, it will disable all features except network application monitor. A license is required to re-activate all functions.
There is no "licensed version" binary file of Net-Peeker, after a valid license file was input, a "trial" Net-Peeker will convert to be "licensed" one.

Personal Edition vs. Group Edition
Personal Edition is designed to run on a single computer. It has a local GUI, control network traffic and applications on local computer. It can popup event dialog or right corner toaster for security events.

Group Edition has a console and multiple agents, with each agent running on one machine. From console, user can centrally control network traffic of multiple machines.
User can group agents, create profile for each group, so whenever a firewall or other change need to be made on all agent, user just update the profile, it will automatically apply to all agents.
All agents run in silent mode on target machine, it will not display any dialog or toaster for events. Console collect all security events and log/statistics from agents.

Note that in case you are running an ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) server and want to control network traffic of all ICS clients, you might not need the Group Edition. A Personal Edition running on ICS server can detect traffic made by ICS clients and block/shape traffic by the client IP address. If you want detail applications information on those clients and you have admin access to them, Group edition is your choice.

Ver4.5 Personal Edition

  • Windows 7 all versions
If Windows 7 was not updated since 2015, the kernel driver might fail to start because it use SHA256 certificate which early Windows 7 does not support. Please search and install Microsoft hotfix "KB3033929" to fix this.
  • Windows Server 2008 all versions
  • Windows 8/8.1 all versions
  • Windows Server 2012 all versions
  • Windows 10 all versions
Ver3.50 Group Edition
System Supported (for both console and agents):
  • Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 or later
  • Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or later
  • Windows 2003
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows 7
  • Windows 2008
  • Windows 8
  • Windows 2012
  • Windows 10

Windows 98/ME and Windows NT are no longer supported.

Remote agent installation will not ask for reboot. You can manage it right after installation, but it will not monitor established sessions prior the installation. To see all sessions, a reboot on the agent is required.

To upgrade from old version, please first install new version of console over old one, then use the console "Apply Updates to Agents" feature to upgrade agents. Please save your work on agents during update because it will automatically reboot the agent machine.

Windows maybe prompt about "Unidentified Publisher" during installation. This is because Windows does not install all root certificate CA by default. You can simply ignore it, or right-click the install file, select "Properties->Digital Signature", then click the "Detail" button for the "eMing Software Inc." signature, Windows will automatically update it's root CA list and will not warn again when you run the installation again
